Expectations in Our Science classroom

Two principles define expectations: RESPECT & rESPONSIBILITY

Respect

1. Respect for Peers:

• Listen actively during lessons and when classmates are speaking.

• Encourage and support peers in group activities and discussions.

• Avoid interrupting or speaking over others. Avoid speaking during lesson presentations.

2. Respect for Teacher:

• Give your full attention during lessons or instructions.

• Do not allow any distractions to affect your focus on the lesson.

• Avoid side conversations when the teacher is actively teaching.

3. Respect for Classroom Environment:

• Keep the classroom clean and organized.

• Handle lab equipment and materials carefully.

• Leave personal items and trash in appropriate places.

4. Respectful Use of Cell Phones & Chromebooks:

• • • Cell phones, ear buds, smart watches, etc. are not allowed to be accessed during class time. (ASD Policy 5250)

    • Keep cell phones on silent or off during class times. In purse, pocket, or backpack.  They should never be seen.

    • Chromebooks should only be used for specific educational purposes during class.

Responsibility

1. Personal Responsibility:

• Arrive on time and prepared with necessary materials for class.

• Complete and submit assignments by the due date.

• Take ownership of your learning by seeking help when needed.

2. Academic Responsibility:

• Engage actively in class discussions and activities.

• Stay on task during individual and group work.

• Ensure your work is your own and maintain academic integrity.

3. Responsibility for Group Work:

• Contribute equally to group tasks and projects.

• Communicate effectively and share ideas and resources.

• Respect group deadlines and commitments.

4. Responsible Use of Technology:

• Be sure to bring your charged Chromebook each day.

• Follow the school's technology use policies and guidelines.

• Report any technical issues promptly to the teacher or IT support.
